The Tindall family set up business in Cayton, near Scarborough, in 1812, primarily as wheelwrights, making and repairing carts and wagons in their workshops on Main Street. They soon started to get involved with arranging funerals and making coffins from scratch. At that time coffins were carried on a wheeled cart from the Chapel of Rest to Church and on to the Cemetery, hence our logo which gives a nod to our heritage.
We welcome enquiries from the general public throughout the Scarborough area to enlist our expert services. John and Carol Tindallare the fifth generation to run the business from the same site in Cayton Village.

Mrs Carol Tindall is a qualified funeral director with over 25 years of experience in the funeral business. We can offer a friendly and compassionate service to families at their time of need and advise on all aspects of arranging the funeral of a loved one. This advice can be given in the comfort of your own home. We have our own chapels of rest where loved ones are cared for and made available for viewing by family members.
As an independent family business, we pride ourselves on giving a personal service at all times. For your peace of mind, we are also members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and as such abide by their code of conduct at all times. Regular inspections are carried out to ensure we meet their strict criteria for membership.
